Hello there,
I am Eva and I specialize in helping Pre-intermediate to Advanced students achieve higher levels of fluency, I help professionals from various sectors improve their communication skills. I have a proven track record in successful exam preparation as well as mentoring and guiding students in writing thesis and PhD.
I am a mom of two feral teens that keep me busy and content. I love baking, music, Art and travelling.
I lived in Barcelona, Tarragona, Spain, London and have settled in Rhodes, Greece for the last 14 years.
I attended the Rovira I Virgili University in Tarragona, I read English Literature at Goldsmiths, London, I have trained in Teaching Business English Online Using Technologies with the British Council, I hold a TEFL, and various other boring certifications. As of late, I have been studying Generative AI for educators as well as the legal, ethical and social aspects of AI.
I have mostly been trained (hands on, while working) in the communicative approach and the PPP method (Presentation,Practice,Production) to language teaching.
My teaching style is student-centered, meaning I follow the needs and interests of my students and adapt the communication style and design the courses/lessons accordingly.
Always depending on my students background, professional or Academic, I scour the web to find the right material (grammar,lexical,or topics of interest) and publications to suit every sector, field or discipline. I have worked with Legal, Marketing, Advertising, IT, Banking and Finance, Urban planning and the Property Market, Pharma, Art & Design schools and Nuclear Industries among others.
I worked with companies such as: Deutche Bank, Rolex S.A, Dow Chemichals, Repsol, Blackstones, Banco Santander,Johnson and Johnson, e.t.c.
I have taught young learners from China and a range of age groups while in the traditional classsroom setting.
I also teach Spanish and Greek to those who feel more adventurous.
I help with high stakes professional and Academic presentations and interviews, as well as writing.
One thing that I can say for sure is that I enjoy seeing people succeding and reaching their goals. However, the most important element I offer, is genuine connection with my students which oftentimes continues long after my capacity as an educator ends.
